A Midsummer Night’s Dream Leading


Although there is little character development in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and no true protagonist, critics generally point to Puck as the main character in the play. The cheeky, quick-witted sprite sets many events of the play in motion with its magic through two jokes to deliberate on the human characters (turning upside down in it, a donkey) and regrettable errors (love potion burrs on the eyelids Lysander instead of Demetrius is).

In A Midsummer Night’s Dream, More importantly, the spirit Puck whimsical, fantasy magic, fun, humor, and wonderful, reminiscent of the language can penetrate the atmosphere to play. Wild contrasts, such as an indirect comparison of a rough, craftsmen of the earth and delicate, pretty please, is dominated by A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Puck seems to describe many of these opposites within his character: he is gracious, but not as saccharine as the other fairies, including Oberon’s jester, he provides a certain coarseness, which leads him to move to the bottom of the head and ass just for experience. He has a good heart, but capable of cruel tricks. Finally, while most of you are beautiful and ethereal, Puck is often portrayed as a bit ‘strange looking. Indeed, another fairy Puck remembers that some call the “trolls,” a term whose meaning is far less glamorous than the “fairy” (II.i.40).

While the humor is often subtle and mischievous Puck, the comedy that surrounds the lower part is presumptuous Nick Weaver hilarious. The central character in the subplot involving the production of the architects of the story of Pyramus and Thisbe, bottom dominates his co-stars with a remarkable belief in their own abilities (he thinks is perfect for all parties in the game) and comic incompetence (which is a terrible player and often makes mistakes in grammar and rhetoric in his speech). The humor often comes down on the fact that it is totally unaware of his ridiculous speeches on dramatic and self-expansion, and seems to believe that no one takes him seriously as he did. This stupid self-importance reached its peak after the disc turns on a donkey.

Even if the disc stand out less as pleasant A Midsummer Night’s Dream characters themselves are not involved in the events leading dramatic. And the other character, Helena, in love with young woman desperately in love with Demetrius, is perhaps the most fully developed. The quartet of Athenian lovers, Helena is the one who thinks that the greatest love of nature which makes sense since the beginning of the game; he will be out of love triangle with Lysander, Hermia and Demetrius. He says: “Love looks not with the eyes, but the mind”, believing that Demetrius has built a fantastic concept of beauty in the Hermia, which prevents him from recognizing their own beauty Helen (Ii234). Demetrius fully faithful, despite his confession of his faults, Helena seeks to win her love by telling him the plan is Lysander and Hermia run away into the woods.

When Helen comes the forest, many of its features are pulled out of the confusion that creates a love potion, in relation to other lovers, he is very confident, worrying about her appearance, and believe in Lysander is mocking her, when proclaims his love.
